Dental Radiology Course for Dental Assistants
This course is approved by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. Successful completion of this course qualifies the individual to sit for the DANB Dental Radiation Health and Safety Examination. Passing the DANB exam allows the dental assistant to place and expose dental radiographs in the State of Maryland. Assistants must register with the State Board after passing the exam. The course covers radiographic anatomy, processing, digital radiography, paralleling technique and emphasis on radiation safety. All clinical practice takes place at the student’s place of employment.
INSTRUCTORS: Course instructors are highly qualified and experienced individuals who have extensive backgrounds in training dental assistants.
30-HOUR COURSE (6 of which is clinical in your dental office)
TIME : 6:30-9:00 PM 9/12/24 to 11/21/24 Class meets once a week on Thursdays.
COURSE LOCATION This is a live virtual class utilizing Zoom Technology
Tuition: $ 675.00 (includes all books and handouts ) Students must purchase text book package. All radiographs are exposed in students place of employment Class size is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reserve your spot early. There is a $ 75.00 processing fee for all cancellations. Registrants must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of 3 months experience in a dental office. Students must be familiar with basic oral anatomy and dental terminology. Dental assistants must take a board approved course to qualify to be x-ray certified by the Maryland Board of Dental Examiners and be DANB certified; otherwise they cannot expose radiographs. DC and VA also have requirements. Dentists and Dental Assistants run the risk of being fined and disciplined by the MD Board of Dental Examiners if they do not comply.

Required by DANB if DA failed the DANB exam twice
Tuition 16 hour review $ 300.00

Expanded Functions General Chairside for Dental Assistants
This course is approved by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. Successful completion of this course enables the student to sit for the DANB Maryland Qualified Dental Assistants Examination and to perform general expanded duties as specified by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. After completing this course students can sit for the DANB exam. All clinical practice takes place at the student’s place of employment. The employing dentist must sign the application verifying office experience, employment & a commitment of clinical support. Individuals will receive a certificate of completion.
